Currently, more than 150 companies are engaged in different aspects of life science, including representation by the world’s top pharmaceutical companies. The Greater Birmingham Region has recently been designated as a federally recognized TechHub due to our work in biotech.

The future of the bioscience workforce is robust. Over the past five years, 14 life sciences companies have announced nearly 700 jobs and over $80 million in capital investment. During those five years, there has been a 10% increase in the number of bioscience degrees awarded in the region.
